Hiya;

It’s that odd time of the year where many of us feel like we are in time-line limbo. We are days away from welcoming 2026 and all of the potential that can come to life. And yet we are reflective of all the dreams, aspirations, and happenings this year.

Emotionally, we are a mixture of feeling vulnerable and excited. We are putting our heads and hearts together making rough plans for 2026, while giving ourselves time to recharge. We have big publishing plans for 2026 and we feel confident that you will find them beneficial.

Hey caregivers and family members visiting loved ones this week, we have a caregiver guide to help you create a meaningful holiday visit with your loved ones “Tips for Joyful and Meaningful visits.” The best news is, it’s an instant download you can get it when you need to.

Environment plays a big factor. If you have a big family (or a loud one) watch for signs of fatigue. It may be that your older loved one needs small breaks from the stimulation. This is especially true with dementia.

Also, remember ‘that they are not giving you a hard time, they are having a hard time’. When the frustration levels rise, it could be overstimulation. But it could also be that a basic need is not being met and they are having a difficult time communicating their needs.

Another tip, your energy levels are also important. Take time to recharge your energy before the party starts and find moments to find your calm center too. Allow yourself the grace you give others, that is true self-care.

We got to play Santa at Prairie Elder Care Day Program and play the handpan at PEC East house this week. That was a lot of fun.

Santa for a Good Cause

Hiya;

What an amazing morning we had volunteering at Prairie Elder Care Day Program. When they asked us 5’ tall gals to play Santa we were a bit nervous that the clients would be disappointed. But by gosh by jolly everyone had a magical time. What a gift it was for us to hear the laughter, see the smiles, and watch them transform from guarded to golly in seconds.  That was before they even found out that Santa and Ms. Claus had a gift for each of them.



What a wonderful treat it was to be among them and all of us celebrating the gift of each other. Our spirits feel renewed and our hearts (though not Grinchy) still grew three sizes today. Kristin was twirled on the dance floor and Delaina got to say Ho ho hO a lot!

We hope you are creating magic in your day as well. And that the warm hygge vibe of wellbeing and love surrounds you.

Snuggie Saturday

Ahh Saturday!

Saturday’s for us tend to be full of projects or peace. Today we are doing a little bit of both so that we bring more hygge vibes in everyday. We’ve got projects (who doesn’t right?) but we will also take time to read by the fireplace.

Delaina was hoping to announce a new sleep video today but she has run into some technical fumbles so fingers crossed that it’s lulling us to sleep by Saturday.

Kristin is having fun designing new puzzles for our next activity book. We think it will reel you in. 😉

Wow what an amazing week it has been. We got to make music with our friends at PEC. Delaina edited some of her poems she wrote earlier this year. Kristin spent some time creating puzzles for our second Activity Book.

What are your weekend plans?

Handpan Happiness & Hygge

This month we are spreading hygge vibes by volunteering more at Prairie Elder Care Day Center and the Farm Homes. Both places are special because they were there for us in our darkest caregiving hours. But even beyond the quality of care they gave Kristin’s Dad they do so much in the community.

Fellow caregivers in the area, they even offer a monthly caregiver support group. Support groups are so valuable. These meetings are a safe environment to share your experiences, concerns, and get solid advice from people who understand dementia.

What are you looking forward to the most during Cozy Season?

Cozy Monday

Happy First Day of December or Cyber Monday or as we are calling it Cozy Monday! 

We don’t know if you feel the same way but it has been a year. So for the rest of 2025 and the winter season we are going full on cozy or maybe the Norwegians call it best––hygge.

Already we have started breathing a little more space into our day by relaxing earlier in the day, sipping warm tea, watching the snow fall today, and tonight we going to sleep early.

We are both taking more time for self-care, reading, and learning gently (not like our livelihood depends on it).
